This museum was originally built in 1883 as a Baptist Church by one of Moncton's prominent families. It has been restored and serves as a museum containing pioneer artifacts and geneological records and information.
The Moncton Museum focuses on the history of Moncton from the original Micmac settlement to the present day. It also houses travelling national and international exhibits. The structure of the building is a combination of the facade of the Old City Hall, and a modern functional building. The Free Meeting House,located beside the Museum,is Moncton's oldest structure, built in 1821 it has been restored to its original style.
