Moncton at a Glance
Moncton has perhaps Canada's best collection of natural oddities. A few miles
south of town, the Bay
of Fundy's massive tidal surges throw the sea around like so much bath water.
The tide is so strong visitors can watch the Petitcodiac River swell and reverse
directions from Moncton's Riverfront
Park. Also in town, Magnetic
Hill puts our normal perceptions to the test. In addition to the natural oddities,
the city is richly endowed with a longstanding agricultural, railway and industrial
heritage. A solid collection of museums and art galleries tell of a long history
and a culture that remains vibrant. For an evening's escape, visitors may want
to catch a show at the Capitol
Theatre which has been restored to its original 1922 elegance. A day trip
to Rocks Park is a also popular adventure, as the caves and crevices invite exploration,
but remember, leave before high tide.
